Two transients were shot
and killed in alleys in St. Petersburg.
By STEPHEN THOMPSON
The Tampa Tribune
ST PETERSBURG - St. Petersburg police are looking for three teenagers who they say shot and killed two transients within an hour, and within the same square mile, early today.
The first man discovered shot was David M. Heath, 53, said St. Petersburg police spokesman Bill Proffitt. Heath was found in an alley in the 4300 block of Seventh Avenue North at 12:50 a.m. today, he said.
Another man had been shot at 12:30 a.m., or roughly 20 minutes earlier, in an alley behind 3505 Sixth Avenue N. which is about seven-tenths of a mile away, Proffitt said. But this man’s body was not found until 6 a.m., Proffitt said. The motive in the man’s death appeared to be robbery, Proffitt said.
The motive in Heath’s death was unknown, he said.
The two deaths were similar in several ways, Proffitt said. The men were both found shot in alleys in the same area of the city and in the same time frame, he said. Further, both victims were transients, he said.
Why would they rob homeless people? They are homeless because they dont have anything. Whos to say it wasnt a gang initiation?
Sounds like someone just got jumped into a gang. They should find these kids and hang them by their balls.
who cares if they were homeless, they were human beings! they had someone who loved them and now there gone?! for what? so some jackass can take what he didnt work to earn, its to sad!

Society’s bullies will always seek out the most vulnerable among us to abuse, in a vain attempt to bolster their own insecurities. This was an act of extreme cowardice and, I think, should be considered a hate crime since it appears obvious that the homeless were targeted as a “class.” I hope the prosecutors and judge consider this when they plea bargain or sentence these sorry wastes of humanity.
