It looks as though the landmark Redington fishing pier will be open for the Fourth of July weekend, with some exceptions.
Today a judge told the pier’s owner that only the first 500 feet of the structure can reopen. Only 333 people will be allowed on the pier at once time - about half its normal crowd.
The pier was shut down just before Tropical Storm Alberto and stayed closed for repairs. It reopened earlier this week, but the city closed it again. Today it opened under the new restrictions.
