GIBSONTON - Three suspects have been identified in an early morning attack Friday on two homeless men that left one of the suspects in critical condition.
Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office spokesman J.D. Callaway said Gabriel Ryan Greer, 16, of 10008 Ethel St.; Richard Arlon Morse Jr., 17, of 11560 Corwin St.; and Travis Riley, 24, no address given, encountered two transients near U.S. 41 and Mottie Road about 3:30 a.m.
The suspects began to beat the homeless men and throw rocks at them, Callaway said. One of the victims, Jeffrey Price, 31, pulled a knife and cut Greer on the face and Riley on the torso. Morse was not injured, Callaway said.
Greer and Morse were charged with aggravated assault and battery. Riley, whom Callaway said would be charged later, was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital in critical condition.
