TAMPA - A man suffered a minor injury to his cheek after a teenager shot him in the face with a pellet gun in the drive-through of a Burger King, Tampa police said.
John Stofer, 71, was sitting in the Burger King drive-through at 901 E. Fowler Ave. about 9:08 p.m. when two boys about 13 years old approached carrying pellet guns. One of them said, “Hey, buy me some food or I’m gonna shoot you,” according to police.
“Well, shoot me then,” Stofer replied, according to police, and the teenager did, firing a pellet gun at the left side of Stofer’s face.
The teenagers ran away. Police described the teenagers as black with medium complexions. They stand about four-feet-six inches tall, have medium builds and weigh between 110 to 120 pounds. One wore his hair in an afro.
Stofer was not seriously hurt and refused medical treatment, police said.
