Pedestrian Killed When He Runs In Front Of Car
CLEARWATER - A Massachusetts man was killed Friday evening when he darted in front of a Rolls-Royce driving across the Memorial Causeway that links Clearwater Beach with mainland Pinellas County.
Ryan Patrick Nolan, 22, of Mattapoisett, Mass., ran into the path of the westbound car about 6:30 p.m. He was taken to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Clearwater police spokesman Wayne Shelor said late Friday.
The accident closed westbound traffic on the causeway for about three hours.
Shelor said Nolan stepped into the road against the stoplight and no charges will be filed against the car’s driver, Ralph Leon Davis of Oldsmar. Davis was not injured.
