Pedestrian Killed On S.R. 55 After Being Struck By SUV
PINELLAS PARK - A pedestrian was hit and killed Friday night on State Road 55, south of State Road 688, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The man, whose name was not released, walked into the inside northbound lane of S.R. 55 at about 10:13 p.m., crossing the path of an oncoming Chevrolet TrailBlazer, the patrol said.
The man was rushed to Northside Hospital, where he died. The driver, Wendy Truett, 36, of Kissimmee, and her passenger, Joseph O’Neill, 36, were not injured, the highway patrol said.
