Pasco Authorities Investigate Two Bank Robberies

The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two bank robberies that happened on opposite sides of the county today.

A man wielding a knife made off with an undisclosed amount of money from the SunTrust bank at 34511 State Road 54 in Zephyrhills shortly after 10 a.m., according to the sheriff’s office. No one was hurt in that incident. The man was last seen leaving the bank parking lot in a green compact Ford.

The second robbery happened about 2:30 p.m. at the Wachovia Bank at 14048 U.S. 19 in Hudson. In that incident, a man walked into the bank with a note demanding money. No weapon was seen, and no one was hurt. The man, described as between 20 and 25, thin, with orange-yellow hair, an earring in his left ear and tattoos on his face, was last seen walking toward a Winn-Dixie grocery store.

Investigators said the two robberies do not appear to be related.
