PLANT CITY - Rather than leave their kids with a sitter, a pair of east Hillsborough mothers took three small children on a little shopping trip Wednesday night, a decision that put them behind bars.
Hillsborough County sheriff’s detectives say Susan Machado, 31, of Plant City, and Amanda Bronson, 25, of Dover, drove the children a known drug house where the women planned to buy marijuana.

On Wednesday, Machado and Bronson phoned an undercover detective and made arrangements to buy $70 worth of marijuana from him at 7322 Knights Griffin Road, according to arrest reports.
The women arrived at 7:20 p.m. with Machado’s two children and Bronson’s 2-year-old son in the car.

Machado reportedly told detectives that she “only occasionally” takes her children with her when she buys marijuana.
Detectives charged the with felony child neglect. Bronson and Machado posted $7,500 and $15,000 bonds respectively on Thursday morning and were released from Orient Road Jail.
I think marijuana should be legalized. These girls are not crimianls or bad moms just because they use marijuana! This is a waist of txpayer money and putting these young mothers and their kids through hell.....unjustly!
