TEMPLE TERRACE – Police have identified the woman and two children who were seriously injured after a car struck them as they walked across 56th Street Tuesday night.
The victims are Trisha Cruz-Rodriguez, 24, and her boyfriend’s two children: Mason Howe, 8, and Natalie Howe, 13. They all live together on Heritage Lane in Temple Terrace.
Police said the trio had left Burger King and was crossing 56th street when they were struck by a car heading southbound. They were not crossing at a crosswalk and several witnesses told police the light was green for southbound traffic.
All three were taken to Tampa General Hospital. Natalie Howe was in serious condition; Mason Howe and Cruz-Rodriguez were in stable condition, according to a news release.
Police identified the driver as 21-year-old Sydney Innis. Neither Innis nor the two passengers were injured.
Officers took blood samples from Innis. No charges have been filed. The investigation is still underway.
