TAMPA - After a Chevrolet Cavalier sat through three traffic-light cycles Tuesday night at Fletcher Avenue and Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, Hillsborough deputies checked and found the driver asleep at the wheel with a baby in the back seat, the sheriff’s office said.

Driver Holly Nicole Younce, 21, had passed out with the engine running and in the drive gear. She appeared confused and unsteady on her feet when deputies woke her, the report said.

Younce was charged with driving under the influence, a second-degree misdemeanor, after she failed a field sobriety test. She told deputies she had taken two prescription painkillers, arrest reports said.
She faces one count of child abuse, a second-degree felony, for allegedly neglecting her 1-year-old daughter’s safety.
A Breathalyzer test showed no alcohol in her system. Younce posted $8,000 bail Wednesday morning and was released from Orient Road Jail.
