TARPON SPRINGS - A late-night report Thursday of a suspicious man walking through yards led Tarpon Springs police to three suspects detectives say are responsible for a rash of car break-ins in the area.

Officers eventually tracked down and charged a man and two teenagers.

Bryan J. Bish, 19, of Tarpon Springs, was charged in 16 burglaries; a 13-year-old from Palm Harbor was charged in six; and a 14-year-old from Tarpon Springs was charged in eight, said Sgt. Barbara Templeton of the Tarpon Springs police department.

The yards the suspicious person was walking through are in the 1300 block of Court Street, east of U.S. 19, Templeton said. The suspects were targeting unlocked vehicles in that area, plus the Beckett’s Bay subdivision, also off U.S. 19, and taking change, compact discs and electronics, including Global Positioning Systems, Templeton said.
