TAMPA - A robber struck a man in the face with a gun this morning while bursting into his apartment to steal more than $7,000 from the man and another resident, police said.
According to a preliminary police report, two men knocked on the door of 301 E. Whitehall Court, Apartment C, about 12:44 a.m. When resident Luis Figueroa, 27, answered the door, one of the men struck Figueroa in the face with a handgun, police said.
They forced Figueroa to walk to a bedroom where two other residents, Xiomara Figueroa, 27, and Abraham Velazquez, 36, were sleeping, police said. The two men demanded whatever cash the residents had.
