TAMPA - A man was being held without bail Monday, accused of stealing his girlfriend’s car and throwing a brick at her, Tampa police said.
Police arrested Jean D. Alexis, 34, of Tampa on Sunday evening, after recovering his girlfriend’s 1998 Nissan Pathfinder, a preliminary police report states.
According to police, Alexis and Lucienne Innocent, 43, of Tampa got into an argument during the day Sunday, and Alexis threw a brick at the Pathfinder while Innocent was inside.
About 5 p.m., he found her at 10116 N. Lantana Ave., struck her and took the Pathfinder without her permission, police said. Officers found the car abandoned a short time later and arrested Alexis at North Lantana and East Linebaugh Avenues about 5:25 p.m.
Alexis is charged with felony carjacking, a felony for throwing a deadly missile, misdemeanor battery and other offenses.
