LAND O’ LAKES - An argument about money at a Big Lots parking lot led one man to chase another’s vehicle and fire a shot at him Saturday morning, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.
Lewis J. Davis, 30, of New Port Richey, missed the man but struck his passenger side mirror, said Kevin Doll, sheriff’s office spokesman.
Davis was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, shooting into a vehicle and discharging a firearm in public. He remained in a Land O’ Lakes detention center Saturday night with bail set at $25,000.
After firing the handgun, Davis returned to Big Lots and threw the weapon in a garbage bin, Doll said. Deputies found Davis at the store and arrested him within an hour of the incident.
