Comment: Would you vote for Lunsford? | Special Report: Couey Trial
BY JIM TUNSTALL
The Tampa Tribune
Mark Lunsford talks to the media
after John Couey’s verdict.
HOMOSASSA SPRINGS - Mark Lunsford – the book, the movie, the state House?
All are possible.
The William Morris Agency confirmed today it will represent Lunsford – whose daughter Jessica was raped and buried alive in 2005 – on a possible book and movie deal.
The book would focus more on the Lunsford family’s ordeal in the days after the third-grader’s February 2005 abduction than on the crimes for which John Evander Couey was convicted earlier this month: first-degree murder, kidnapping, sexual battery on a child under 12 and burglary with battery.
Lunsford’s attorney and assistant also confirmed he has been approached by high-ranking officials to run for the state House of Representatives, possibly as a Republican. His decision could be made in the next two weeks, attorney Mark Gelman said.
