LAKELAND - A Lakeland mother and her daughter are in Scotland today to join in on the Harry Potter mania.
Cheri and Becki Glogower hopped on a plane to be there before the release of the final volume in the boy wizard’s saga.
Bookstores across Britain were flinging open their doors at a minute past midnight Saturday for the release of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” Shops as far afield as Singapore and
Australia were putting the book on sale at the same time; the United States will follow from midnight Eastern time.
Cheri says she went through a fan site supported by the book’s author, J.K. Rowling, that recommended a trip with a group called Magical Tours. The group takes them to Edinburg, Rowling’s hometown, for the book release. They will also get to visit many of the film locations for the movies.
A theme park, complete with Hogwarts castle and Forbidden Forest, is to open in Orlando in 2009.
