WIMAUMA Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting death that happened early Saturday during a makeshift street party, Hillsborough County sheriff’s spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.
The body of Monico Hernandez, 33, of 3317 Willow Road, Wimauma, was found at 4 a.m. lying in the roadway amongst beer bottles at 3305 Maple Mex St., Carter said.
Investigators think there was a large crowd standing and drinking there at the time of the shooting, but they have not found any witnesses to the shooting, she said.
No suspect description was available.
