TAMPA - Deputies are investigating an accident involving a Hartline bus and two other vehicles that hurt seven people, Hillsborough County sheriff’s spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.
The crash happened shortly at about 2:45 p.m. at 5711 N. 56th St., near Hillsborough Ave.
One person was rushed to Tampa General Hospital, two were taken to University Community Hospital, three were taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital and one person was rushed to Brandon Regional Hospital. Their names were not available.
Carter said the northbound bus was stopped to pick up passengers when a 1998 Nissan Frontier pickup driven by Shirley A Dona, 51, of Seffner, proceeded to pass the bus.
For unknown reasons, Dona turned her pickup toward the bus and hit its left side.
The Nissan spun clockwise and hit a 2002 Chevrolet being driven north on 56th St. by Gladys Washington, 78, of Tampa.
Carter said the investigation continues and charges are pending.
