News Channel 8 Report
From JUDD CHAPIN
News Channel 8
PASCO COUNTY – People in the Dade City, San Antonio and Brooksville areas may notice more smoke in the air today.
Firefighters are monitoring a brush fire in the Green Swamp. That’s northeast of Dade City.
News Channel 8 helicopter pilot Judd Chapin flew over the area and said bulldozers plowed furrows and helicopters dropped fire retardant to help contain the blaze. He estimated about 50 acres were burning still late this morning.
Firefighters are letting the fire burn itself out. It’s in the middle of the swamp and is not threatening any homes or buildings.
