WEST PALM BEACH - Former U.S. Representative Mark Foley may not be running for Congress anymore, but his name is still on the ballot today as voters picked a successor for the disgraced Republican lawmaker.

Foley resigned in September after being confronted with lurid computer messages he sent to male teenage pages. But he remains a major theme in the race between his GOP replacement candidate, state Representative Joe Negron, and Democratic political newcomer Tim Mahoney.
Mahoney is seen as the Democrats’ best chance to win a GOP congressional seat in Florida. Democrats need to pick up 15 seats to wrest control of the House from Republicans.

If the Republican sacrificial lamb, Joe Negron, actually manages to retain the seat for his party, it will have nothing to do with either his opponent’s lackluster campaign or the fact that Negron is a good guy ( which he is).No you can count on his election - just like many other Republicans in Florida being secured by good ole fashioned vote manipulation ( jerrymandering), fraud (no chads, just computers)and voter stupidity. THIS IS FLORIDA afterall !
