CLEARWATER - A fire engine collided with another vehicle, sending one person to the hospital with a minor injury on Sunday, a police spokesman said.
Clearwater Fire Department Engine No. 48 collided with the vehicle about 8:25 p.m. on Sunset Point Road, just east of Belcher Road, said Sgt. Gregory Stewart. The driver of the vehicle was taken to Morton Plant Hospital, he said.
The driver of a third vehicle, accused of causing the collision, ran from the scene and was arrested.
Stewart said Sean Dobbin, 18, was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and two felonies, and was ticketed for careless driving. However, on Monday, jail records show that Dobbin was charged with one felony for leaving the scene of an accident and a misdemeanor for driving with a suspended or revoked license. It couldn’t be confirmed if he was ticketed in the crash.
