TAMPA - A fire on Thursday evening did about $70,000 in damage to a house at 3413 N. 54th St., Tampa Fire Rescue Capt. Bill Wade said.
The fire was reported about 6:40 p.m. Firefighters had the flames under control in about 40 minutes, Wade said. No injuries were reported.
The residents were not home when the fire started. Investigators do not know the cause, but the fire did not appear suspicious, Wade said.
Occupants Jose Fernandez, 38, and his wife, Olga Fernandez, 47, arrived after the fire was out and said they would stay with friends, Wade said.
