BARTOW – Two suspected drug dealers are in jail after detectives confiscated $60,000 worth of methamphetamine (ICE).
Detectives with the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force (HIDTA) arrested Fredy James, 28, and Miguel Luevano-Valle, 37, both of North Carolina, on June 29.
They seized more than three pounds of the drug, a 1999 Ford Expedition and almost $500 in cash, according to a news release.
Detectives said they arranged for the drugs to be delivered to Polk County through a Mexican drug trafficking organization in Ocala. Both suspects are legal resident aliens from Mexico.
Detectives said the suspects arrived at a Days Inn Motel on Park road in Plant City at 2 p.m. on Friday, and then negotiated to deliver the drugs to the detectives in Bartow. Detectives stopped the suspects as they were traveling on the Polk Parkway.
Both are charged with drug trafficking.
