LARGO - A sheriff’s deputy was fired after it was discovered he had associated with exotic dancers with criminal backgrounds, often talking to them on the telephone while he was on duty, according to internal affairs documents made public Monday.
Thomas Singleton, 33, had sex with at least three of them, the documents show. The dancers worked at Oz.
Singleton, whose termination went into effect May 25, had been with the agency since 1998.
A prior investigation showed he also had sex while on duty with an Egg Platter waitress in a cemetery, an investigative file shows. In that case, he made it appear on a computer that he was busy calling in reports.
cops,, preachers, plumbers...all are subject to human failings. I cannot judge this man.I only find fault in his on duty conduct, not what he does off duty. I know for a fact that most of the people that we hold in high regard and esteem cannot presonally live up to the standards that they attempt to portray.A very sanctimonius bunch.
This is a classic example of not doing anything the first time, sends the message that its O.K.. Just like the teachers having sex in the classroom. If they are not terminated they will do it again. People need to understand when they are put in a position of responsibility and or authority they should not betray that trust. If they do, there are consequences.

John...my friend. Slick Willie as you call him started nothing. Men have been dropping their drawers for anything that stands still long enough since the dawn of time. Whether any man would do it is not the question here...whether some men have the common sense and decency not to do it inappropriately is. Put a uniform on that man or stand him in front of a classroom and let him stand tall.
Heck if slick willy can get away with it why can’t he. After it was slick willy that started all of this in the first place.
How can any of you actually defend this guy? What he does “on duty” and in uniform is hardly his personal life. He’s lucky to not be in jail.

I don’t think we should govern his personal life. What he does off the clock with another consenting adult is strictly his business. However, he, like the teachers were on the taxpayers clock. What would have happened if one of his fellow officers had needed backup? Would your boss be happy if he caught you having sex on his time?
Jeez! This guy should hook up with the middle school teachers that were just busted for sex during working hours...what the heck is wrong with people?
Life is not a porn video, folks...random sex with dancers, waitresses, etc. while on the job sounds like it should be accompanied by “bowmp be dowmp” music and Ron Jeremy’s ugly mug...not being performed by deputies and teachers who should be models of behavior in the community…

Why are we trying to govern his personal life? He is a cop 24/7, maybe his stress level requires him to seek reprieve- i know many professionals that will verify sexual activity is a huge stress relief. It is unfair to ask our officers to be police all the time and also to dictate to them when they can and cannot have sex. Don’t we have better crimes to investigate like crooked cops and not just horny cops!?
Why wasn’t he fired the first time? Having sex while on duty and then covering it up would seem like a pretty good reason to let him go.

The patrol officer is derilict of his duties no excuse, but where is his supervisor, having known of his prior instances why was he not better supervised, and has anyone even questioned that person.
