LARGO - A Pinellas County deputy was taken to a hospital Tuesday after a driver hit her cruiser, causing it to flip, the sheriff’s office said.
Cpl. Heather Thompson, 40, was driving south on Ridge Road about 3:30 p.m. when she was hit by a silver 2003 Chevrolet Impala that was traveling east on Ulmerton Road.
The Impala’s driver, Michelle Ingwalson, 43, of Largo, was cited for improper passing and not wearing a seat belt.
Thompson and Ingwalson were taken to hospitals. Their conditions were not available late Tuesday.
