A woman has been cited in a Hillsborough County car crash that left a bicyclist dead this morning. Authorities are also looking for another car involved in the pre-dawn accident.
The identity of bicyclist, a middle age white man, has not been made public.
Leann Analco, 29, faces an improper passing citation for driving her Green Daewoo in the wrong lane on County Line Road arounf 7 a.m., according to Tampa Police Spokesperson Lisa Parashis.
Analco’s car struck the bicyclist, throwing his body into the path of another vehicle, which struck the man.
“It was very dark at that hour and it is possible that the driver of the unknown vehicle did not realize what they had struck,” and kept going, Parashis said. “We need for that person to please come forward.”
Investigators did not have a description of the vehicle.

The man that was killed was Dr. Rick Greenwasser from Ft. Lauderdale, a friend of mine for over 20 years. I am appalled that someone would just keep going. How could they not know they hit something as big as a body? Rick was 6’ and about 200lbs, so they must have known. I also think improper lane change is a ridiculous charge when someone ends up dead. I just feel terrible for my friends family, that a tragedy like this happened at New Years. The holiday will never be the same for them.
I ride my bike to and from work every day. Something similar happened to me one day, a SUV decided to pass a semi-truck as I was cycling in the opposite lane. Luckily I was paying attention, if not it would have been a head-on crash...me vs the truck! I had my headlight on and I am pretty sure I was very visible, but some idiot drivers just ignore cyclists. This lady should be charged with manslaughter or criminal negligence or something. Tougher laws need to be made for the safety of cyclists. As for cyclists, please follow all traffic laws, have your bike lit up, and always be alert. We can’t for one second trust that drivers will look out for our safety.
I think a citation for an improper lane change is light considering the outcome. Her improper lane change caused yet another fatality on County Line Road. I also find it hard to believe that the other driver could hit a person and not know it? I hope we can all be more aware as we drive that road back and forth each day. I know I need to be more cautious myself as I drive it to and from work. The road is narrow and in bad repair and loaded with traffic. Everyone be safe and be alert. I will be trying to do the same.
How can you not know that they struck someone? It’s not like you rolled over a pothole or something, the person hit a human being, not a small rodent! Whoever hit the cyclist knows what they did and fled the scene.

This is the third accident that I have witnessed on that section of County Line Road in the last month. What is it going to take for people to be conscientious drivers who obey the law? I too am a cyclist and am afraid for my life when I ride on the road...there are too few bike lanes in Hillsborough and Pasco counties. If people aren’t concerned about hitting animals and now PEOPLE, then we’re in trouble! Drivers’ attitudes need to change to make this a safer community.
