PLANT CITY - The Plant City Christmas Parade will return to its traditional two-mile path, from Collins to Reynolds streets, an official said today.
Last December, parade organizers tried a new route that was half as long and stayed entirely on Reynolds Street. But that route went through more residential areas and parking was a problem.
Earlier this month, city commissioners suggested that parade organizers consider returning to the route used in previous years.
Fran Neilsen, co-founder and co-chairwoman of the parade, said her committee voted to return to the Collins-to-Reynolds route.
Neilsen said the route has changed a few times in its more than 20 year history.
The Christmas parade is one of the biggest of the year in Plant City.
