TAMPA - University of South Florida sophomore Carlton Hill, the Bulls’ most highly touted football recruit in program history, was arrested Monday night on misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana.
A USF police spokesman said Hill was among five men arrested in a dormitory apartment. Hill was the only member of USF’s football program, although former players Devon Davis and Drametrice Smith also were arrested.
‘’People in the community know how I feel about these situations,’’ USF coach Jim Leavitt said. ‘’I’m supportive of Carlton and we’ll look into this, let it run its course and then make a decision on his future.’’
Hill could not be reached for comment.
Hill, who picked USF over Miami out of Monticello Jefferson High, played sparingly last season at quarterback and wide receiver, but was named USF’s starting quarterback by Leavitt entering spring drills. However, he missed most of spring practice because of academic problems and lost his starting position.
John Williams needs to go back to school and learn to spell. What do you expect from a doper though!
Way to “##### away” a scholarship Carlton. I know, I know, I know,......it was your upbringing and neighborhood that caused you to burn a “J” and get caught.
Go BULLS!! WOO HOO!!
arrested on a misdemeanor it shouldv’e been a ticketed offence, actually marijuana should be legal.I wander if the police had a warrant also, all of this trouble for a plant. Its time that america stops hiding behind the topic of the overly expensive, and damaging war on drugs and have a real debate about it.we have turned this country into an incarceration nation, because of onesidedness on the topic ie: ondcp and pdfa. i know theirs going to be a lot of people writing about this comment. but i have a right to my opinion like you do thats why we call it a debate.
What a flippin Moron.

Good, I hope USF kicks him off the team. UM won’t have any problem putting him on the squad after aLL.
