ST. PETERSBURG - A 3-year-old boy is in the intensive care unit at All Children’s Hospital after he was found face-down in the pool of his grandmother’s house Friday afternoon, police officials said.
James Viera Jr. had apparently climbed back into the above-ground pool at 701 41st St. N. after he, his mother, another child and that child’s mother had gotten out, said St. Petersburg police spokesman Bill Proffitt. Viera was wearing a vest-like flotation device, but the device forces whoever is wearing it to face upward, and the boy apparently ended up in the water flipped over, Proffitt said.
Viera, who lives just around the corner at 4000 Eighth Ave. N., could not have been in the water for more than a minute or two, Proffitt said. A family member plucked him out of the water and performed CPR on him before he was transported to the hospital, Proffitt said.

Wait, was he wearing the vest or not? It says that the vest keeps them face up but he was found face down.
Sad.
Hope that he recovers fully!!!
