TAMPA - A nurse and seven drill instructors charged in the death of 14-year-old Martin Lee Anderson in a Panhandle boot camp are scheduled to go on trial in Bay County in October.
Judge Michael Overstreet has scheduled jury selection for Sept. 24 and 25, according to Pam Bondi, an assistant Hillsborough County state attorney who is on the team prosecuting the case, along with Mike Sinacore and Scott Harmon.
The Hillsborough State Attorney’s Office was asked to investigate the case because of potential conflicts of interest.
Bondi said Overstreet has set the trial to begin Oct. 3 in the Bay County Courthouse in Panama City. The judge has given the trial eight days.
