ST. PETE BEACH - When Mary Holt died four weeks ago, she left behind more than a few personal belongings in her condominium for her survivors to find.
A relative was cleaning the woman’s home Saturday morning and came across some military munitions inside a desk, possibly from the World War II era, said Pinellas County sheriff’s spokeswoman Cecelia Barreda. She was unable to specify what the munitions were.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office’s bomb unit was called in to remove the items, Barreda said.
Holt died June 25 at Lexington Health and Rehabilitation Center in Kenneth City, according to her obituary.
