Bank Robbery Suspect Sought

ST.  PETERSBURG - A man robbed a bank Wednesday and investigators believe he also robbed a bank the day before, authorities said.

At roughly 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, the suspect walked into the Wachovia Bank, 3131 66th St. N., said police spokesman George Kajtsa.

He approached a teller, handed her a note demanding money, then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, Kajtsa.

The same suspect is believed to have robbed the Cornerstone Bank at 5800 38th Ave. N. on Tuesday.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 30s or 40s. He is roughly 6 feet tall and weighs 170 to 180 pounds, and has short brown hair. At the time of Wednesday’s robbery, he was wearing a white shirt, plaid shorts and black tennis shoes.
