Baby Dropped Off At Fire Station
LAKELAND - A woman dropped off a healthy newborn girl at a fire station at about noon today.
It was the first time the Lakeland Fire Department has received a baby under the state’s Safe Haven law, which also protects the mother from prosecution.
The baby was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center and remains there for observation.
