MIAMI - Gubernatorial front-runner Charlie Crist is leading a Republican ticket bidding for a near-sweep in Florida’s statewide
races today.
U.S. Senate candidate Katherine Harris is the only one considered a likely loser among GOP candidates.
While Democrats hope to score gains across the country, Crist held a steady lead in the polls over U-S Representative Jim Davis throughout their campaign.
Republicans also lead in races for attorney general, agriculture commissioner and, by a narrow margin, chief financial officer.
Many voters remain undecided as the election draws near.
The lone Democrat with a lead in a statewide race was U.S. Senator Bill Nelson. Harris trailed him in polls by up to 30 percentage points.
In the contest to replace disgraced former U.S.Representative Mark Foley in the 16th district, state Representative Joe Negron
faces Democrat Tim Mahoney.
