PALM HARBOR - One person died and three people were seriously injured when a car and sports utility vehicle collided in Palm Harbor early Saturday.
Joseph W. Torina, 24, of Palm Harbor, was driving north on 12th Street about 2 a.m. and didn’t stop at a stop sign, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
Torina’s car hit the front right of an SUV heading east on Nebraska Avenue, according to the report.
The SUV overturned and ejected Raymond A. Johns, 26, and Kristopher D. Katzer, 26.
Johns died at the scene. Katzer was listed in critical condition Saturday night at Bayfront Medical Center. A third passenger, Chase M. Merritt, 21, was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital and released.
Stephanie Fulton, 22, and Brandon Tanner, 24, were riding in Torina’s car. Fulton was listed in serious condition, and Tanner was listed in fair condition Saturday night at Bayfront.
Torina was taken to St. Joseph’s and released.
Authorities have not identified the driver of the SUV. Charges are pending the outcome of an investigation, the report states.
