There is at least a rumor, no more than that, among some Republican insiders that the party might delay the start of its convention scheduled for Monday in Minneapolis-St. Paul. The reason: The chance that Hurricane Gustav will hit New Orleans Monday afternoon. The party clearly would not want the spectacle of Republicans politicking and partying while New Orleans was being hit by yet another hurricane. We’ll update this if any solid information becomes available.
