DENVER – We’re here!
Right now, we’re making our way to the downtown Denver hotel where many of the Florida delegates will be staying; we expect to arrive just in time to watch the Obama-Biden event televised from Springfield.
Earlier this week, Sen. Bill Nelson told us he’d been recommending to Obama that he pick either Hillary Clinton or Biden—seeing them as the best choices to hboost the Democratic ticket in Florida.
Today, state Democratic Party Chair Karen Thurman said in a statement that she was among those pleased with Obama’s choice. She stayed true to the clear party strategy of stressing Biden’s swing-state roots and blue-collar background.
“A native of Scranton, PA, Biden’s heart and values are firmly rooted in the middle class. In the Senate, Biden has fought for America’s cops, firefighters, and other first responders,” Thurman said.
“The Obama/Biden partnership is uniquely suited to bring about the change America needs put our country back on track,” she said.
