Expect delays on the lower lanes of the Selmon Expressway near the main toll plaza.
Workers this morning placed orange barrels on the inside lanes west of the plaza to funnel cars onto one westbound lane.
The resulting backup stretched past the tolls.
Traffic will be constrained for up to eight months on the lower Selmon as workers replace the concrete decking on three bridges.

I am a concerned ,frustrated and angry daily user of the Leroy Selmon Crosstown. I contacted the Expressway today because repair work was causing a standstill situation. I asked about their emergency plans and the answer I received left me with more questions than answers. I was told this will be a 6-8 month issue.
I have also contacted the agency about the lighting (or the lack of) for the past year. Every call I make ends with the same result, apologize and excuses. This is also a safety issue. It appears that the aesthetic lighting has taken a priority over the safety lighting.
The worst part is we have to pay for this with time, toll money, added fuel and a giant headache. We should get a free ride until this is cleaned up.
