If you were a big fan of the cool weather the past few days, well, too bad. Chances are this was the last time this spring you’ll see temperatures in the 40s unless you travel quite a ways north of here or open the refrigerator door.
With highs hitting the low 80s by Friday and creeping into the middle 80s by early next week, it looks like we’ll see the true Florida April, not this weird one that’s had cold spells and more than 1.5 inches of extra rain so far.
It’s supposed to be warm and dry in April, and it looks like that’s what we’ll see—at least the next week.
About the only thing that has forecasters scratching their heads is whether the remains of a fairly puny front will make it this far down the peninsula. But for us, the difference between the front getting close or washing out over the Panhandle is no rain or maybe a 10 percent chance of rain.
Right now, forecasters are going with the no rain.
