The tropics have been very quiet during June and July. As we head into August and September, the season hits its most active time. We also begin to look across the Atlantic and closer to Africa for storms to develop. With El Nino officially here, that usually helps suppress hurricane activity. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for that.
Right now, the National Hurricane Season is watching one area of disturbed weather near the coast of Africa. Right now, the folks at the Hurricane Center say development of the system will be slow to occur. The tropical wave is moving west at 15 mph.
