Vote Already

I’ll admit it. The accelerated pace of the early primary season has shot my attention span to pieces. Don’t get me wrong - I like hearing what the candidates have to say. I just think the Democratic contest is so gridlocked that another two hours of back-and-forth really doesn’t help propel it toward its conclusion.

It was all supposed to be over by now, remember? But it isn’t. And so we tune in to scores of debates between two candidates who agree with one another on almost everything except for who should be president.

I caught a few of tonight’s zingers - Hillary watched ‘Saturday Night Live!’ Barack’s going to answer for that turban! - but for the most part, the debate left me wishing we could fast-forward to March 4 and settle this thing.

March 4 won’t settle it, though. We’re going all the way to the convention, and Barack and Hillary don’t even have John Edwards around as a foil anymore.

I’m beginning to feel like I’m trapped between the two of them in the middle seat of an airplane on its way to Denver. It’s going to be a long flight. Some turbulence might make it more interesting.

There is not one individual I would vote for this year.  No candidate that you can really sink your teet into and say “I believe in what they are saying” or “Now that man would make a great president”.  Should I feel bad if I do not vote, NO.  As Americans we need more choices, not just faces.
