WASHINGTON – The University of South Florida has been awarded one of eight major Defense Department grants totaling $3.07 million as part of the 2008 Reserve Officer Training Corps Language and Culture Project.
The project provides opportunities for ROTC Cadets and Midshipmen to study less-commonly taught languages and cultures.
This year’s recipients also include Arizona State University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Louisiana State University, North Georgia College and State University, Texas A&M University, The University of Utah, and The Virginia Military Institute.
USF’s grant would go toward covering the costs associated with aiding and building critical language programs. No specific dollar figure for the grant was immediately available.
