This ran earlier this week in The Tribune. It’s a profile of Karolyn Nunnallee, who transcended the worst of tragedies to pursue a life of fierce advocacy for traffic safety and the prevention of drunk driving. I first met Karolyn in 2001, when she served on the county’s charter revision board. She was competent and brisk then and remains so now.
And, as another sobering reminder, here’s a story just posted pointing out that more people per capita died in Polk in 2006 after failing to wear seat belts than any other large county in the state. It’s wasn’t even close.
