It’s just after 6 a.m., and Bus 2507 is idling in the parking lot of Victorious Life Church in central Pasco County, waiting to leave. The driver watches as a reporter and photographer pull in.
We tell him we’ll wait for the next bus, in about a half hour, and he radios in to make sure that bus is on time.
A woman and her young son, wearing a Pepin Academy shirt, walk to the front.
“We’ve got to get going,” she says. “He will miss his connecting bus of we don’t leave on time.
The driver hops in his seat, and the bus rumbles away. Its stops are in New Tampa and downtown.
