Mayor Iorio

4:10 p.m.
Mayor Iorio says she had no idea what the Tate’s new home would look like, but the Mediterranean-style home she saw today exceeds her expectations.
While it’s a national television show leading the charge, the mayor commended the local companies that have volunteered time and money to help, as well as the crowd that has stayed onsite almost around the clock.
“This is the Tampa I know,” Iorio says.
In the meantime, some of the big trucks that have been obstructing the view of the front of the house just pulled away, revealing what appears to be a wide wraparound porch facing the airport.
A few exclamations could be heard from the crowd when the porch came into view.
