The first witness called is Sharon Armstrong, a family friend of the Lunsford family.
Prosecutor Pete Magrino pulls out a blown up photograph. He shows it to defense attorney Dan Lewan before entering it into evidence.
He then shows it to Armstrong, who took Jessica to church the night before she went missing. When Magrino shows her the photo, Armstrong begins crying.
It is the iconic picture of Jessie – her smiling broadly with a floppy pink hat.
