The weather pattern the next few days looks like it’s going to settle into something more typical for our spring, meaning warm and dry.
A thin band of showers runs from St. Petersburg and Tampa out into the Gulf and has delivered less than a tenth of an inch across northeast Hillsborough. But that should sag south over the Sarasota and southern Polk areas by late morning. The weather service says don’t rule out a chance for a light shower or two and wind gusts of about 15 mph near the coast.
After that, the dry air settles in and brings temperatures in the 80s except along the coast where temperatures may stay in the 70s. Forecasters don’t talk about rain until maybe late in the week if a weak front stalls over northern Florida.
We shouldn’t have to deal with much humidity, at least through the middle of the week, so those temperatures in the lower 80s shouldn’t feel too bad. But then that’s really what April is supposed to be like here.
