According to his latest announcement on Twitter, Marco Rubio will announce his political plans Tuesday at 10 a.m., but his Facebook page appears to say already that he’s running for the Senate.
For those with access, here’s the tweet and here’s the Facebook page.
For those who don’t, Rubio sent his tweet about an hour ago, and recently edited the Facebook page says that he recently edited his status. Under “currently running for,” it now says U.S. Senate.
If that’s the case, Rubio will make what could be his first campaign appearance in Tampa Friday, May 15 at a Hillsborough County Hispanic Republican Club event.
Rubio has been sending pretty strong signals for some time that he intends to get in the Senate race, and expects to oppose Gov. Charlie Crist in a GOP primary.
Among them: These comments to reporters, plus a couple of other tweets from today—“There are two primary choices in life; to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them,” from Denis Waitley, and “There are only two options regarding commitment. You’re either in or out. There’s no such thing as a life in-between.”
Rubio hasn’t responded yet to an email a few minutes ago from MOP for comment or confirmation.
