Romney To Hold Tampa Town Hall Meeting

Posted Jul 31, 2007 by William March

GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney will hold one of his “Ask Mitt Anything” sessions Monday in Tampa at La Teresita restaurant on Columbus Drive.

Meanwhile, Romney announced that his national finance team includes three Floridians.

Developers Mark Guzzetta of Boca Raton and Mel Sembler of St. Petersburg are among Romney’s “National Finance Chairs,” and Miam lawyer Al Cardenas is among his co-chairs.

The Ask Mitt Anything gatherings, a staple feature of Romney’s campaign, allow members of the public to question Romney about any subject. The Tampa event is open to the public, starting at 5:30 p.m., but attendees are asked to RSVP, and seating may be limited by the capacity of the restaurant meeting room. To attend, email FloridaRSVP@MittRomney.com or call 866-701-2079,

The event will be Romney’s third Ask Mitt Anything gathering in Florida, and first in the Tampa Bay area, said campaign spokewsoman Kristy Campbell. He has held more than 50 nationally during the course of the campaign.

Campbell said Romney’s trip to Florida Monday will include only public campaigning events—no fundraisers. That suggests Romney is transitioning from the money phase of the campaign to the political phase, as the weeks tick down toward Florida’s Jan. 29 primary.
