U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor’s office says it’s getting hundreds of requests for tickets to Barack Obama’s inauguration in Washington Jan. 20
“We aren’t surprised that the public is calling our office, especially given Congresswoman Castor’s role as co-chair of Obama’s campaign in Florida and the enormous interest the public has in seeing President-Elect Obama take office,” said Ellen Gedalius, a spokeswoman for the Democrat representative from Tampa.
“We have received requests for more than 600 tickets so far, though there are few specifics available on how many tickets we will be able to distribute. We are keeping track of our constituents and will work hard to take care of as many of them as possible,” said Gedalius.
She said Castor’s office is also steering people to the congresswoman’s Web site for information, http://www.castor.house.gov/Events/.
